So as you know I was able to try out a pair of Transitions XTRActive Polarized lenses this year at no cost and this is my super-short review on how I use them, answers to questions I often get about them, and my thoughts overall!
So what are Transitions?
“Transitions XTRActive Polarized lenses are clear with a hint of protective tint indoors, darken in the car, get extra dark, and polarize outdoors in the sun. Transitions XTRActive Polarized lenses offer superior protection, sharper vision, larger view and vivid colors.”
Basically: Transitions XTRActive Polarized lenses are lenses that quickly turn from clear to tinted when exposed to sun or UV rays. They are meant to conveniently transition so that you do not have to worry about switching from your usual pair of glasses to sunglasses. I also find that they are super helpful especially for kids that play outside!
How can you order?
Go to your local optometrist or optician's office! Talk to your optometrist about the benefits to these lenses. Many locations offer Transitions technology so when you are planning to order new glasses, you can add Transitions XTRActive on to your new pair!
My thoughts: First and foremost, I love the eye-glass frame in which I chose to get my Transitions lenses in. I bought them for $14 off of Amazon (which I will link below). I knew I wanted to try the polarization in a dark color so I knew these frames would be suited for the quick, dark polarization tint when I step outdoors. The frame I chose is super cat-eyed and brings out an elevated and feminine look. The frames also go with so many outfits so I never have to worry whether my glasses would compliment what I am wearing!
Overall, I really love my glasses and enjoy the technology behind the Transitions XTRActive Polarized lenses. One of the best features about my Transitions lenses is the pure convenience. I never have to worry about swapping back and forth from regular glasses to sunglasses. Oftentimes I found myself overwhelmed with having to switch between so many pairs of eye wear especially when running errands, driving to class, traveling on vacation, etc,. I would leave either pair almost everywhere and often misplaced my glasses. With Transitions, I can have all features in one pair of my favorite frames and not have to worry about switching when I go in and outside the house!
Other than that, while I have the lenses in black there are a variety of colors to choose from that I would love to try next these include: Amethyst, Emerald, Sapphire, and Hazel
The new colors are very cute and further elevate the look of your frames so I would highly suggest the next time you go into your eye doctor to inquire about Transitions Lenses!
